David was being hunted to be killed by King Saul.  David was hiding in a cave when his Saul came into the cave to relieve himself. David secretly cut a piece of Saul's robe off to show him  he could have killed him.

Looks like a ground hog but it is a Rock Hyrex also spelled Hyrax.
